Penjelasan: Untuk tindkan-tidakan yang dikendalikan oleh peraturan atau undang-undang, gunakanlah: can, can’t, etc. Atau: not allowed to. 

Contoh: Now that thay are both seventeen, they can get maried.

The goal keeper can touch the ball, but nobody else can.

Indonesia: Teknologi telah membuat mereka mampu menanam bahan makanan pokok sendiri.

Salah: Technologi has made them able to grow their own food.

Benar: Technologi has enabled them to grow their own food.

Penjelasan: Arti ’enable’ adalah memebuat seseorang mampu untuk melakukan sesuatu. 

Contoh: This scheme is designed to enable young people to find work.

Perlu dicatat bahwa frasa: can’t/couldn’t stop doing something.

Contoh: The  book was so fascinating, I couldn’t stop reading it.
