KINDS OF TEXT: 1. MESSAGE

Standar Kompetensi Lulusan: Menentukan gambaran umum, rujukan kata, makna kata dalam text dari sebuah teks fungsional berupa massage yang disajikan.

Material: Massage is a short letter. Since it is usually informal and written in a hurry, the complete format of a letter is not followed. Only the essentials are written without any formal salutation or ending, introduction, or conclusion. One can say that only the body of the letter is written in minimum number of words.

A message is written when we cannot reach or contact the person we want to talk to. A well written message must inform its readers:

ü who called

ü what the caller called for

ü whom to contact

ü who did the caller call for

ü where to meet

ü when to meet, come, or expect

ü what to bring
