Untuk adjective yang bersuku kata satu dan diucapkan pendek serta berakhir dengan satu huruf konsonan, maka konsonan tersebut harus digandakan.

Untuk yang berakhiran dengan y, maka dalam comparative “y” diubah menjadi “I” kemudian ditambahkan “er” dan superlative ditambahkan “est”

3. Semua adjective yang bersuku kata dua atau lebih dalam comparative didahului dengan “ more “ dan superlative dengan “the most”

3. Ada beberapa adjective yang bentuk comparative maupun superlativenya tidak mengikuti peraturan.Ini disebut Irregular Adjectives. Tidak banyak kata sifat jenis itu.
